Aimé Lay-Ekuakille is with the Department of Innovation Engineering of the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy) since September 2000. He has a permanent position. Postgraduate degree in Electronic Engineering, Postgraduate degree in Clinical Engineering, Ph.D in Electronic Engineering. He has been Technical Manager of different private companies in the field of: Industrial plants, Environment Measurements, Nuclear and Biomedical Measurements; he was director of Health & Environment of a Municipal Department. He has been a technical advisor of Italian government for high risk plants. He was adjunct Professor in different Italian Universities from 1993 up to 2001. He joined the Department of Innovation Engineering (University of Salento) in september 2000 in the Measurement & Instrumentation Group as Assistant professor of Electronic Measurements. Since 2003, he became the leader of the scientific group; hence, he is Director of Measurement and Instrumentation Lab in Lecce. He serves as untenured Associate Professor at MMC of Kenya (Nairobi) in the area of Measurements and Instrumentation and Professor of Smart Sensor Signal at Chemnitz Technical University (Germany). He is in the board of different international reputed journals, namely, Associate Editor of IEEE Sensors Journal, founder and the Editor-in-Chief (2010 up now) of the “International Journal of Measurement Technologies and Instrumentation Engineering" (IJMTIE). His main researches regard Environmental, industrial and Biomedical instrumentation & measurements even using nanotechnology devices. Renewable energy is also his niche area of research. Membership of different international TCs: Senior Member of IEEE, IEEE Sensors Council member of Nominations & Awards Committee, IEEE EMBS WBSS (since 2008 up now), IEEE IMS TC-25 Subcommittee on Blood Pressure Measurement (since 2008 up now), Chair of Imeko TC19 Environmental Measurements (since june 2013 up now), Chair of IEEE Instrumentation Measurement Society TC34 “Nanotechnology in Instrumentation Measurement”. He authored and co-authored more than 150 papers on International journals and proceedings. He co-edited 3 international books and also authored and co-authored 2 international books (in progress). He is currently scientific advisor of Italian national committee for IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, and health issues) and Senior Scientific Advisor of the Italian Ministry of Environment.He is the recipient of funds for national and international projects.
